A very nice garden located not far from Vancouver. It would take you only a little more than 1 hour to reach this little town of Chilliwack. The garden itself is about 32 acres featuring 12 unique 'themed' gardens. Each garden differs from the other. You would experience Lake Garden's quite sport and Rose Garden's roses smell. You would also find Victorian ladies welcoming you. The most unique spot would be the floral peacock. It is a very good garden to take pictures with.
Exit #135 Highway #1, Only 90 minutes east of downtown Vancouver, BC
By Transit
Take a Greyhound bus from Vancouver to Chilliwack. For the Greyhound schedule call their Vancouver telephone number, at (604) 482-8747 or visit Greyhound.
Once at the Chilliwack bus depot, there are two options:
Take BC Transit bus #5. Tell the driver that you wish to get off at the downtown Safeway store so that you can catch the Harrison Hot Springs bus. The #5 bus arrives at the Chilliwack bus depot at 2 minutes to each hour. The telephone number to check the BC Transit schedule and information is 604-795-3838 or visit BC Transit.
There are other buses that can get you to the downtown Safeway store. They run along Vedder Road which is just a block west of the bus depot, and they run more frequently. Either way the object is to get to Chilliwack' s downtown Safeway store. Be sure to ask for a transfer when you board the #5 or Vedder Road bus so that you need not pay again when you board the Harrison Hot Springs bus.
Once you arrive at the downtown Safeway bus shelter, you will catch the BC Transit bus that goes to Harrison Hot Springs. This bus passes by Minter Gardens on its way to Harrison Hot Springs. Tell the driver that you want to get off at Minter Gardens.
To return to Vancouver you will, of course, reverse these directions. Be sure to double check what time the Harrison bus returns to Chilliwack.
