I love Malaysian food. Even though Vancouver is called food heaven from different countries but it is somehow difficult to find a good and authentic Malaysian restaurant in Vancouver. Many people have recommended me this restaurant so we decided to try it out.
We actually missed it the first time we tried to look for the restaurant. It did not have any eye-catching sign and it is easily missed.
Inside it was small and there were approximately 5 tables. That would not stop us from trying though.
The menu items were limited to noodle and rice dishes. I ordered Mee Gorang and Jane ordered Lo Mee. We also ordered sambal mussels for appetizer. The food came quickly since there was only one table occupied.
Jane does not like her Lo Mee. The taste was different than what she used to eat in Penang. She said it was salty. According to others, the lo mee is Sabah style.
My Mee Gorang was not the best I have tasted in Vancouver but it was better than Jane's Lo Mee. It was not bad but just not what I used to taste.
The only thing we liked was the Sambal Steamed mussels. However the hot sauce was more like Thai sweet and hot sauce instead of the actual sambal sauce. It was tasty but different too.
